Installation Guide

Follow these steps to get JazzPianoLab up and running on your computer.

Step 1: Create Your JazzPianoLab Account

  1. After purchasing your JazzPianoLab annual subscription, you'll receive a welcome email with a link to activate your account.
  2. Click the link in the email to set up your JazzPianoLab account.
  3. Complete your account information and save your login details for future use.
If you don't see the welcome email after your purchase, please check your spam/junk folder or contact our support team.

Step 2: Download JazzPianoLab

  1. Log in to your JazzPianoLab account at our login page.
  2. Navigate to the My Products section of your account dashboard.
  3. Choose the version for your operating system (Windows or macOS) and click the download button.
  4. If clicking the link does not start the download, make sure your browser is not blocking downloads.

Step 3: Extract the Application

macOS

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file in your Downloads folder.
  2. Double-click the ZIP file to extract it.
  3. Drag the JazzPianoLab application to your Applications folder or any other location of your choice.

Windows

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file in your Downloads folder.
  2. Right-click the file and select "Extract..."
  3. Choose a destination folder where you want to keep the application (e.g., C:\Program Files\JazzPianoLab or your Documents folder).
  4. Click "Extract" to unzip the file.
Important: The application is signed with Certum digital certificate.
However, we found that on some Windows versions you might still see a warning about the app and need to allow the browser to download the file.

Step 4: Run JazzPianoLab

macOS

  1. Navigate to the location where you placed JazzPianoLab.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) on the JazzPianoLab application and select "Open".
  3. If you see a security warning, click "Open" to proceed. You'll only need to do this the first time you run the app.
  4. The application is properly signed with Apple developer ID and fully notarized.

Windows

  1. Navigate to the folder where you extracted JazzPianoLab.
  2. Double-click JazzPianoLab.exe to launch the application.
  3. If you see a Windows security warning, click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to proceed.
Important: The application is signed with Certum digital certificate. You can check it by right-clicking the JazzPianoLab.exe file, selecting "Properties", and then going to the "Digital Signatures" tab.

However, we found that on some Windows versions Windows Defender might block the app from running or even mistakenly treat it as a threat.
You might need to allow the app through Windows Defender settings.

If you are experiencing this problem, you might want to check an option to exclude specific folder from Windows Defender scans (e.g., the folder where you placed JazzPianoLab). More information on how to do that can be found in those videos: Windows 11 | Windows 10.

Step 5: Getting JazzPianoLab License

  1. You should receive your license key via email after completing the setup of your JazzPianoLab account.
  2. You can also obtain your license key from the JazzPianoLab dashboard → My Products.
Each subscription grants a license for use on one device at a time. If you wish to switch devices, you may deactivate the license on the current device before activating it on another. Unauthorized sharing or usage on multiple devices may result in suspension or termination without refund.

Step 6: Activate JazzPianoLab

  1. When you first launch JazzPianoLab, you'll be prompted to authorize your copy of JazzPianoLab.
  2. Enter the product type (JazzPianoLab), your email, and license key.
  3. The application will verify your subscription and activate automatically.
  4. Once activated, you won't need to enter your account details again unless you reinstall the application or your subscription expires.
  5. You'll be able to see the status of your subscription in the application Settings -> Subscription.

Reactivating JazzPianoLab on a New Device

  1. Go to the Settings tab within JazzPianoLab.
  2. Under Subscriptions, click on the Deauthorize button.
  3. This will free up your license for use on another device.
  4. You can then install and activate JazzPianoLab on your new device following the same installation and activation steps.
